Please join artist-in-residence, Nina Sarnelle, for an insightful presentation about The Erosion of Silicon Beach, a sprawling, hypertextual research project analyzing social and political issues in an area of Los Angeles going through rapid change due to the influx of tech companies. Across 19 chapters, 14 embedded videos and over 400 hyperlinked connections, the work presents a poetic lens for linking discourses on Indigenous resistance, racial justice, ecology, urbanism, militarism, policing, and gentrification. After Nina’s presentation, guests will join in a community discussion about their personal takes on the project.
This program is FREE and open to the public ages 16+. However, registration is required due to limited capacity.
